United Methodist Church of Kent
When the United Methodist Church of Kent decided to launch a contemporary, student-oriented worship service in our church gymnasium, we knew we faced a very significant technical challenge. We needed a sound system that would produce a high quality, balanced sound for multiple electronic instruments and singing voices, as well as for the spoken voice, all in a room with significant echo. Because the room was an attractive space – unlike the typical gym – we were also concerned about aesthetics and did not want large acoustical panels attached to the walls. In addition, we needed a video projection system that would be versatile, that would overcome significant ambient light from large windows, and that would withstand the rigors of an athletic facility.
Ashton Sound designed and installed an audio/video system that beautifully met all of our requirements and exceeded our expectations for quality. The system produces a balanced, crystal clear sound for voice, recorded material, and multiple live musicians, and the needed acoustical panels are cleverly mounted within the ceiling structure of the room, so as to be virtually invisible. The video system handles every conceivable form of input and produces a bright, perfectly positioned image. The whole system has been in regular use for more than a year and has performed flawlessly.
Ashton Sound also managed to complete the whole project within a narrow time frame, and within our very busy facility so that we could launch our new service on time. We continue to marvel at how good the system sounds and looks in our gym and have appreciated the very professional manner in which Ashton Sound has worked with our church.
